I Love Painting!

My house is full of paintings. Watercolors, mixed-media, acrylic and experimental nature based materials to name a few. Painting is a truly emotional and physical experience. I feel my most vulnerable and my most immersed when I am painting, whether a tiny watercolor sketch or a wall mural.

Commissions.

This piece was made for an office space in Kenai, Alaska. It was loosely based off a mural I made in 2021 Mural of a musk ox family. If you are interested in commission work, click below or contact me.

Experimental Deep Dives.

My MFA thesis focused on alternative painting techniques. With paint and different tools I explored building up layers then excavating destroying and piecing my paintings back together. This is an example of a 2019 piece that was painted, blown-up, and stitched back together by myself and others. Several painters inspired this artistic phase including Mark Bradford and Niki de Saint Phalle.

Community Murals.

For the past five years the Kenai Art Center has hosted a community mural show in November. I have been lucky to take part in this event the past four years. This piece is called “Infinity Cents”, it is one of my favorites.
